Flat Palm vs. Tented Hand Yoga Practice

This is a short, focused yoga practice centered on the hands.

We explore two positions throughout the sequence:

Flat palms — pressing through the top and base of the index and middle fingers, with the thumb drawing weight toward the inner palm.

Tented hands — lifting the center of the palm and strengthening the perimeter of the hand.

You’ll move through:

• Gentle supine preparation to wake up the fingers and wrists

• Downward Dog, Plank, and lunges with clear, simple hand contact points

• Standing postures where the hands either spread wide or squeeze with intention

• Balance shapes that challenge wrist stability and precision

The pace is steady and deliberate.

Less about intensity. More about awareness.

Supportive for regular practitioners and teachers — especially anyone who wants stronger, more intelligent hands in weight-bearing poses.

Blocks are optional.
