Pranayama: The Original Breathwork

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Over the past decade, “breathwork” has exploded in popularity across the West. Studios, classes, and trainings are popping up everywhere. And while much of this movement is well-intentioned, I’ve also seen approaches that can be ineffective—or even dangerous. This happens when the practice of breathing drifts further and further away from its roots in prāṇāyāma, the classical yogic science of the breath.

“At the most fundamental level, there can never be a one-size-fits-all formula for breathing.”

That’s exactly what this course is about: returning to the origins of pranayama and learning how to apply these time-tested techniques in a way that supports your unique body, mind, and life.

In this 6-week course, you will explore:

  • The roots of pranayama and the meaning of prana

  • Why pranayama is one of the most effective ways to work with the breath

  • The role and importance of breathing ratios

  • How to safely practice and adapt classical pranayama techniques for yourself

This course is ideal for yoga practitioners, teachers, and anyone curious about the deeper roots of breathwork who wants a grounded, sustainable, and personal approach to the power of the breath.
